MAHESH BABU

After starting off his career as a child artiste, Mahesh Babu went on to become a hero, just like his father Krishna. He commands a huge fan following in Telugu-speaking states and is one of the most sought after actors in Tollywood.

Mahesh Babu openly stated that he has been disappointing his fans by churning out underwhelming films like Brahmotsavam and Spyder.

As expected, his recently-released Bharat Ane Nenu shattered box-office records on its opening day and is continuing its dream run. He is one of the highest paid actors in Tollywood, with a remuneration of Rs 18 crore.

JR NTR

The actor’s films that came out in the last couple of years, have all become huge hits and he ended up earning Rs 18 crore to Rs 20 crore per film. Though Jr NTR heavily relies on commercial cinema, his last couple of films such as Nannaku Prematho, Janatha Garage and Jai Lava Kusa had important social messages.

His remuneration is likely to increase, given that he will be working with Trivikram Srinivas and SS Rajamouli this year.

PAWAN KALYAN

It has been over 22 years since Pawan Kalyan made his acting debut, and today, with 23 films in his filmography, he is one of the biggest Tollywood stars. With just one release in 2017, he has earned a whopping Rs 18 crore for the film.

His Agnyaathavasi, which hit the theatres in 2018, failed to rake in profits. But the craze for Pawan Kalyan doesn’t seem to die at all, even when the actor is busy with his political career.

PRABHAS

Fondly called Tollwyood’s Darling, Prabhas’s fame sky-rocketed after the success of the Baahubali series. According to a few reports, he was paid a whopping Rs 25 crore for Baahubali: The Conclusion.

With Saaho and an untitled Hindi film on the cards, Prabhas has already beaten the likes of Mahesh Babu and Pawan Kalyan.

ALLU ARJUN

With his Sarrainodu becoming the most watched Hindi dubbed film in India, his next project Duvvada Jagannadham was declared a huge hit as it earned USD135 million (Rs 900 crore) worldwide.

Apart from films, he also appeared in commercials which contributed to his Rs 14 crore remuneration per film. The actor is now gearing up for the release of Naa Peru Surya Naa Illu India, which is scheduled to release on May 4, 2018.

RAM CHARAN

Having lasted a decade in this industry, Ram Charan had acted in ten films, out of which nine films were declared hits. Apart from acting in films, he also produced his father’s comeback film Khaidi No 150.

According to reports, he charges Rs 10 crore to Rs 14 crore for a movie. It might increase in future, as he will be seen in a multi-starrer directed by SS Rajamouli.

RAVI TEJA

Known as the Mass Maharaja of Tollywood, Ravi Teja relies mostly on commercial potboilers. Even though he has churned out a few duds like his recent film Touch Chesi Chudu, his career seems unscathed.

Reportedly, he charges Rs 10 crore per film.

YCP Will Win 23 Out of 25 MPs

After Republic TV had predicted that YCP would win 21 MP seats out of 25 MP seats in Andhra Pradesh, in a fresh blow to the ruling TDP, yet another national media house has predicted that YSRCP would sweep the Lok Sabha polls.

Times Now’s survey results predicted that YS Jagan-led YCP would win 23 seats out of 25 MP seats while TDP would confine to as less as 2 seats. This is a big shocker to the ruling TDP.

Even Republic TV had earlier predicted that Jagan would become the next CM of AP. India Today-Axis survey that aired its result back in October 2018 too predicted that Jagan is racing ahead in the forthcoming Assembly elections in AP. The survey had said that Jagan is more popular choice as CM than Chandrababu owing to anti-incumbency.

Meanwhile, TDP leaders are raising doubts over the credibility of these surveys by national media houses. They are alleging that BJP is behind these surveys. Let’s wait and see.

Pawan Kalyan’s Ultimate Shock To AP CM

AP CM Chandrababu Naidu was made to swallow a bitter pill by none other than Pawan Kalyan who happens to be his former Alliance Partner. The other day, TDP Government extended invitations to the political parties for the All-Party Meeting on Wednesday to discuss about the action plan for achieving Special Category Status. 

TDP Leadership assumed Pawan Kalyan, who attended Undavalli’s All-Party Meeting on Tuesday, will accept its invitation. Much to the shock of the Ruling Party, Jana Sena Chief issued a statement saying he won’t be attending such meetings meant for political mileage. He questioned, ‘Why should we attend All-Party Meeting when no concrete measures were taken by the Government to achieve Special Category Status? Is it fair to extend invitation Today for the meeting to be conducted Tomorrow? What is the agenda of this meeting?’.

All-Party Meeting proposed by Telugu Desam is clearly an attempt to convey that all the parties who attended have been fighting for the same cause. It’s a clear ploy to point fingers at YCP and BJP which won’t be attending it. Pawan Kalyan ruled out any such possibility by turning down the invitation. Even Left Parties which will form alliance with Jana Sena would skip the meeting. Which means, All-Party Meeting ends up a big failure even before the start.

KCR’s AP Tour Scheduled

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is to make a trip to Andhra Pradesh in February. He is to attend anniversary celebrations at Sharada Peetham in Vishakhapatnam from February 10 to 14.

The Chief Minister is likely to attend the event on February 14 as he got an invitation from Sri Swarupananda Swamy, the pontiff of Sharada Peetham, who conducted the Chandi Yagam for five days at KCR’s farm house in Erravalli recently.

During that time, the Pontiff had extended an invitation to the Chief Minister to attend the anniversary and KCR readily agreed, according to informed sources. Along with family members, KCR is to attend the program and offer special pujas on the occasion.

Puri new film heroine Conformed-ISMART HEROINE

Hero Ram is doing a film called Ismart Shankar in the direction of Puri Jagan and the film has already started its shoot a week back in Hyderabad.

The heroine of the film was not announced till now but the latest update is that young starlet Nidhi Aggarwal of Mr. Mjanu fame has been roped in as the female lead of the film.

This is a big offer for Niddhi as Puri is said to showcase his heroines on a superb note. Let’s hope that this film will help her in a big way.

AP CM to launch trial production today of Kia Motors

Kia Motors is going to commence trial production at its plant in Anantapur district within a record time of one year from Tuesday, press release said.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will launch the trial run of the first car along with Kia Motors MD Shim in the presence of South Korean Ambassador to India Shin Bongkil.

Kia Motors is going to invest over ₹12,900 cr in its greenfield car manufacturing plant in phases. The plant will have initial installed capacity of 3 lakh vehicles per annum and it may be increased to 4 lakh vehicles.

This factory will create 4,000 permanent jobs and another 7,000 temporary jobs.

The production volume will comprise of 90 per cent domestic sales and ten per cent exports.

Kia Motors will also collaborate with the State government to develop an ecosystem for electric vehicles.

The Korean carmaker has started its operation in India, by setting up a mega manufacturing plant at Yerramanchi village at Penugonda mandal of Anantapur district.

For every six months, KIA Motors is planning to release a new model car into the Indian market from this production unit.

The latest political buzz reveals that actress and former Rajya Sabha member Jaya Prada is keen on joining the YSR Congress Party.

Sources reveal that the senior actress is keen on contesting in the Lok Sabha elections from Rajahmundry on a YSRCP ticket.

Jaya Prada had made her entry into politics at the peak of her acting career. She joined the Telugu Desam party and also served as a Rajya Sabha member of the Samajwadi Party.

According to sources, Jaya Prada is amidst talks with key leaders of the YSR Congress Party.

Bollywood beauty Parineeti Chopra is in talks for one of the female leads and things are in final stages. She quoted huge remuneration and the makers are willing to pay hefty amount for Parineeti. The other two heroines too are being picked up currently. Tamil actor Samuthirakani has been finalized for a crucial role in this action thriller. Bankrolled by DVV Entertainments, the film is expected to release next year during summer.

New Governor for AP; Kiran Bedi rules out reports

Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi has ruled out any proposal of appointing her as Governor of Andhra Pradesh, while further making it clear that she doesn’t have any intention to contest in Lok Sabha elections. Of late, speculation is rife over the Centre’s inclination towards Kiran Bedi as Governor of AP.

“I would like to remain in administration. I don’t have any interest in politics. There’s no truth in news about contesting in forthcoming Lok Sabha elections,” said former IPS officer Bedi.

It may be recalled that AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu often complained about non-cooperation of the Governor and asked the Centre to replace him with someone else.

Since 2009, former IPS officer ESL Narasimhan has been serving as Governor of united AP and continuing for Telangana and AP after the state bifurcation in 2014. Several TDP ministers also openly criticised the functioning style of Narasimhan.

9th National voters Day - 25th January | Mana Aksharam

The 9th National Voters’ Day will be celebrated across the country today for enhanced participation of citizens in the electoral process. The National Awards for the Best Electoral Practices will be conferred on Officers for their outstanding performance in the conduct of elections.

The main purpose of the celebration is to encourage, facilitate and maximize the enrollment, especially for the new voters. 

In view of the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections, No Voter to be Left Behind has been selected as the theme for the National Voters’ Day.

Priyanka Gandhi Enters as AICC General Secretary

Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday appointed his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as party General Secretary in charge of eastern Uttar Pradesh.
She will formally take charge from the first week of next month.

Priyanka’s involvement in politics has so far been largely limited to campaigning in the party’s ‘pocket boroughs’ of Amethi and Raebareli in earlier elections. This is the first time she will play a more active role in the party’s organisational hierarchy.

Welcoming the move, senior party leader Motilal Vohra said Priyanka’s ppointment will auger well for the party in Eastern Uttar Pradesh and beyond.

Bigg Boss Set: The new destination for shootings

Star MAA raced to the top in TRPs with the realty show Bigg Boss. Both the seasons ended up as super hits. The first season was shot in Lonavla, near Pune in which the Hindi Bigg Boss was shot. For the second season, the makers erected a massive set in Annapurna Studios (7 Acres). Now this set turned out to be the new destination for film and tv shows shoot.

The set wasn’t disturbed after the makers got several offers. Some portions of NTR – Kathanayakudu was shot in this special set. ETV’s top show ‘Swarabhishekam’s is being shot here currently. Though most of the ETV shows are shot in Ramoji Film City, Swararbhishekam is shot in Bigg Boss set to reduce the cost cutting (vehicle expenses and time for Ramoji Film City travel).

On the whole, the Bigg Boss 2 set has been raking money for the makers and is busy with several shoots currently.

How Fraudsters Steal Your OTP?

So the One Time Password (OTP) sent by your bank and comes only to your mobile phone makes your hard-earned money safe? It’s time to think once again.

Fraudsters are coming up with brand new ways to steal even the OTP. If the ‘Android.Bankosy’ malware two years ago could intercept voice calls and steal OTPs when banks sent the passwords via call-based systems, the latest one that has hit several people in Bengaluru over the last couple of months is a malware that can automatically forward your SMS to the fraudster’s phone.

The beginning of most of the cases reported in Bengaluru, according to various reports, was similar. The crooks stuck to their ‘conventional’ trick, posing as bank employees, calling up and saying it was time to update the target’s KYC details or renew his/her debit/credit card and surreptitiously take the card number and if possible the CVV too. The victims, who according to reports were mostly software employees, gave the details with the confidence that these details would not suffice to withdraw cash since they had enabled OTP-based transactions.

Once the crooks collected all the details, they would tell the would-be victim that they would get an SMS, and that they would have to click on the link and ‘confirm’ the details so that the process was completed. And this was where the trap was all set.

Once the victim clicks on the link, the phone is infested with a malware, which automatically forwards all incoming SMS to the fraudster’s phone, including the OTP. This, along with the card/account details they have already collected, makes looting the victim easier than ever. Reports quoting the Bengaluru police indicate that crooks have stolen several lakhs of rupees from different accounts already.

Though the complete details of the new modus operandi are yet to come out, and with any such case yet to be reported from Hyderabad, cybercrime police units across the country are warning smartphone users to be alert with everything they share.

And the advisory too, as of now, remains the same as that which one has to be follow to avoid falling prey to other similar debit/credit frauds, with the addition of one, and that is to be guarded against malware too. In addition, the Bengaluru Police have asked the public not to download apps such as My SMS, Any Desk and other unknown apps, which they say will help online crooks read your mobile content remotely..

Why TDP is Hesitating To Handover Jagan’s Case to NIA?

The recent developments in the attempt to murder on YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy are pointing finger at the Telugu Desam Party president and Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, according to former Minister and YSRCP leader Botsa Satyanarayana.

Talking to reporters , he said that the YSRCP since day one had been demanding an impartial inquiry by third party. But the TDP government handed over the case to a special investigating team (SIT) to dilute the probe. Now, the SIT is refusing to hand over its investigation reports and evidence to the NIA which had taken over probe of the case on High Court’s direction, he pointed out.

“It is a pity that the SIT is refusing to hand over the reports to NIA on the plea the case is in the High Court. If Chandrababu, his son Nara Lokesh and the State police did not have a hand in the matter, why should they be afraid of NIA? They should have straight away handed over the case to the third party which our president Jagan had demanded. Now Chandrababu is creating obstacles to NIA investigation, by refusing to give the records of investigation in the case makes one increasingly suspicious of the TDP in the murder attempt,” he added…

N Chandrababu Naidu Pitches for Paper Ballot

Saying that The Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) have turned out to be a big threat to democracy, TDP national president and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu demanded that the Election Commission of India (ECI) should seek opinion of all political parties and revert to the paper ballot system, during a teleconference with the party leaders on Tuesday.


He said that there should not be confusing democracy in India. Opposing the EVM technology, he said that there were proofs of tampering of the machines and all parties raised doubts over it.

He said that out of 120 countries in the world, only 20 have been using this technology. The TDP chief further claimed that hackers had “proved” that Electronic Voting Machines could be tampered.

Naidu said that because of TDP efforts only, The Election Commission introduced Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT), but it is not being implemented at all the polling booths across the country. He further said though the ECI is giving the VVPAT slips, the printing on it is not lasting for long time. The print on it also is not visible sometimes, he added.

Explaining all these, Naidu said that leaders of 22 parties will meet the ECI very soon to demand shifting of the voting procedure to the traditional ballot paper system.

Reacting on the BJP leaders’ criticism, Chandrababu Naidu said that the Centre did not do anything favourable to the AP and they even did not honour the promises made to the State.

Meda Mallikarjuna Reddy Meets YS Jagan Mohan Reddy | Mana Aksharam

TDP's expelled leader, Rajampeta MLA, Meida Mallikarjuna Reddy, met with Vice-Chancellor Jagan. Meeda came along with her brothers to Jagan's residence in Lotus Pond in Hyderabad. He was invited by the Vice-Leader Vijaya sai reddy. On this occasion he discussed the political situation in the state, the future functionalities and the Kadapa district politics with Jagan. Today, Meda has come to the court with courage and will officially join the YCP on 31st of this month.


Meda Mallikarjuna Reddy will be accompanied by family members in the backdrop of a good fore cause on the 31st of this month, sources close to him said. The MLA has resigned from the post and suggested that Jagan had come to the VCP. Today, Rajampeta and Jammalamadagu leaders were seen in Amravati in which Chandra Babu was not aware of his absence. Virat Kohli is the first player to win all three major ICC awards together

Virat Kohli on Tuesday scripted history by becoming the first player in history to win the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Cricketer of the Year, as well as the ICC Men's Test Player of the Year and the ICC ODI Player of the Year awards. The 30-year-old has also been named captain of ICC's Test and ODI teams of 2018 for a fabulous run in international cricket. Kohli scored 1,322 runs at an average of 55.08 in 13 Tests with five hundreds during the calendar year while in 14 ODIs he amassed 1202 runs at an astonishing average of 133.55 with six centuries. He also scored 211 runs in 10 T20Is.

" I feel really grateful and very, very happy with the team doing well at the same time myself performing. Having recognition at the global level from the ICC is something you feel proud of as a cricketer because you understand that there are many players playing the game," Kohli was quoted as saying by icc-cricket.com.

"To be rewarded in this manner from amongst all of them is obviously a very proud moment for me and something that gives you more motivation to keep repeating the same things because you have to keep the standard of cricket up and keep bringing in consistent performances" says kohli

Kohli had won the Sir Garfield Trophy and ICC ODI Player of the Year awards last year and was also the ICC ODI Player of the Year in 2012.

Chiranjeevi Agrees Koratala Siva Project?

The makers of Chiranjeevi’s next project under Koratala Siva’s direction have made an official announcement regarding the film.
The production houses, Konidela production company, and Matinee Entertainments will be jointly bankrolling this highly-anticipated project.
An official statement read that Chiru is presently busy with Sye Raa and he will start working on Siva’s project after he completes the film.
Also, they have confirmed that Koratala Siva and Chiranjeevi have locked the script for this film and the pre-production works are going on in full swing.
